Mother’s Day Thoughts from our community

Here is a collection of thoughts on ways our community wants to move forward into this week, month, life- with intention, purpose and SELF LOVE.  Hope some of these ideas inspire YOU to create your own list of ways to show yourself love, and thoughts on what you NEED to be and feel love. IMG_6316

When we feel loved… goals and ideas on living.

Observe more.

1x a week make time for myself to do something I enjoy.

Take time each day to play with my son.

When I feel loved, I notice the fresh air,

Get more sleep at least 7 hours at night and nap when possible.

To give myself more appreciation time and space to celebrate what’ I’ve done, just me.

When I start to criticize or doubt myself notice, stop and try to tell myself the opposite.

Exercise regularly. Yoga, walk, run

I feel like I can do anything.

Say I love you and thank you more often.

Take joy in the small things

I feel calm.

When I feel loved, I move.

Don’t feel bad about needing help.

Start a home yoga practice.

Remind myself that the Universe loves and cares for me. TRUST.

Make a decision and let it go. Right or wrong move on.

Drink More Water – at least 8 glass a day.

When I feel loved, I know life is not so hard.

I feel authentic.

When I feel loved, I pause before I say yes.

Post “TRUST LIFE” affirmations.

Start each day by breathing deeply for 5 minutes ( instead of reaching for my phone to check emails and plan my day)

I feel grateful.

Start going to yoga classes on a regular basis.

Not feel guilty for taking time for myself.

Tell myself I’m worth it.

A lil omm poem by Leah Musico.

Ode to Lil’ Omm on its 5 Year Anniversary

The time has come to celebrate

A studio called Lil’ Omm.

Where every person across all ages

Is welcomed to call home.

Male or female, gay or straight,

Big or very small.

All kinds of folks from all generations,

At Lil’ Omm, we want you all!

Sad to say, but it is true,

It’s special and very rare

To find a place where all can be

And truly feel the care.

Five years ago, a seed was planted

(Since, DC hasn’t been the same)

A beautiful community began with one woman

And Pleasance is her name.

With vision, intention, and lots of love,

She opened in Palisades

A place where children, moms and dads

Could connect, inspire, and engage.

Word got out and people came.

They realized what was growing.

Much different than other studios,

A community Pleasance was sowing.

Classes for asana, yes it’s true,

But so much more than that.

Mindfulness, connection, family bonding –

Lil’ Omm is where it’s at!

People came and people stayed

When they found Pleasance’s community.

Parents want a place, you see

Where their kids can learn about unity.

Just a short while later,

A new space we were to have

When the perfect spot in Tenleytown

Became our home on Wisconsin Ave.

Now yoga classes and tons of workshops

Help our community thrive.

Prenatal training, infant massage,

Dance parties – we are alive!

Curvy, yin, playtime, and labs.

Prenatal, itsy bitsy, baby and me.

Mommy meet-ups, stroller fit, gentle, and flow.

And so much more, you see!

So come one, come all, to join in the fun

In this beautiful space Pleasance made.

Bring your family and all your friends

(And remember, we offer financial aid!)

Happy birthday, Lil’ Omm.

We feel your love to our very core.

Thank you, Pleasance, for five wonderful years.

And here’s to many more!

Angel

“With what shall I bless this baby?” asked the angel. And the angel blessed her with a radiant smile, discerning eyes and a compassionate heart. “With what shall I bless this child?” asked the angel. And the angel blessed her with dancing feet, a musical soul, and helpful hands and ears tuned to the young and the old. “ With what shall I bless this young person?” Asked the angel. And the angel blessed her with an adventurous spirit, a curious mind, and with words of righteousness upon her lips. And then the angel said, “I have given her all that an angel can. I have given her a song and a smile and feet to dance and sensitive hands and a tender heart. Now I will give her this prayer: As she has been blessed, so may she , through all the days of her life, bestow blessing upon others. “

– I don’t know where this came from, but I love it.
